He graduated İstanbul University Faculty of Economy received his PHd from the same university in Department of Economy. He changed his station and was in charge at Marmara University as an associate professor in 1986. He worked as research scholar at London School of Economics and Political Sciences between 1989-1990 and became a professor in 1993. He was in charge as a professor of economics at International Islamic University Malaysia(1992-1994) and at International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization where is in same country between(1995-1997)and (2002-2006). Orman has been serving as a Member of Bank Council of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey since 2011.
